Baby Shower Longies

As promised, I finally got some pictures of the longies I knitted for my friend's baby shower. My hubby took these pics. They're not necessarily the best photos, but he doesn't breathe knitteds like we knitters tend to do.

This pair is size small DaisyHead Delights. (You can find this pattern on my sidebar.) They have a k2p1 waistband and a twisted drawstring. I gave them a garter stitch gusset. I finished them off with the same ribbing with a needle size 2 sizes smaller than I used for the body. The inseam was about 8 inches. Project page

For the hat, I used this Pumpkin Hat pattern from Lion Brand. (Rav link) I made the 0-6 mo. size. I made a few modifications to the pattern. I changed the ribbing to a k1p1 twisted rib. At the crown, I did not change colors for a pumpkin stem. Instead, I continued with my yarn and worked only the first round of the I-Cord Stem instructions. Then I broke the yarn and threaded through the remaining stitches. I pulled it tight and wove in the ends for a standard crown on the hat. Project page

This pair of longies is also a size small DaisyHead Delight. I gave them a k2p1 twisted rib and a garter stitch gusset. The drawstring was a crocheted chain worked with 2 strands of yarn held together. I finished them off with a seed stitch cuff that was about 1.5 inches long. Their inseam was also about 8 inches. My friend seemed happy to get some cloth diapering supplies. I hope she enjoys them and gets a lot of use from them!

Be brave, be creative~
