My daughter's knitted birthday gift this year was a pair of Skew knee socks. I mentioned in my last post that for tackling this project I am either brave or insane. I think the answer is: a little of both!
I used the same Deborah Norville Serenity sock yarn that I used for my Skews; except she chose the paprika colorway. She liked the stripes it created.
The reason for my bravery/insanity for attempting this project is that the knee length is taking FOR. EVER. I started the first sock mid-March. I finished the first sock the second week of April. I was a good knitter and cast on for the second sock immediately. However… I had to put this project down to work on a couple of orders for customers. Then it was hard to pick back up. You know the story.
I have now purposed to finish my daughter's birthday gift. It will only be 2 months late.
That's not so bad is it?
Wonderfully, she is also an accomplished knitter. She gets it.
