DaisyHead Delight was my first soaker pattern. It was created out of a desire to make soakers for my baby girl, as well as to sell longies and shorties to others. That's why I decided to name this pattern after my girl. Her name means delight. She is my delight. Thus, DaisyHead Delight came into being.
Delight was my first patternand was pretty bare bones. I decided that she needed a makeover. Over a year later (yes, a year!), it is here! DaisyHead Delight is now the complete package! She now has several waistband options and a whopping 18 leg finishes! It also has a giant appendix that includes tutorials for all pattern techniques with pictures large enough to really see what's happening on the needles. An advanced beginner or brave beginner could tackle this pattern. Keeping reading to see what else you get with this pattern!
DaisyHead Delight is knit in the round from the top down. It offers a trim fit through the waist and above hips. It employs short rows throughout the back to give plenty of room for the cloth diaper. All waist and hip shaping is done with changes in needle size~ so no increases or mistakes in stitch count!
DaisyHead Delight has a garter stitch gusset for extra room and protection in the wet zone. It has 2 different leg widths. And there are 18 different leg finishes, 11 of which are gender neutral!
The pattern has instructions for 4 waistbands and 4 ruffles for the bum. The Customizable Option walks you step by step through knitting to your baby’s measurements or to your own gauge. The pattern also includes a 32 page Appendix full of tutorials for all pattern techniques. You only need to know basic knitting skills! It also teaches you 4 types of drawstrings!
