Berries & Cream

Berries & Cream~

This one had to become a ruffled soaker for a sweet girlie!

This one is about 4 ounces of Lion Brand Fisherman's Wool, presoaked and tied. (Remember, details on the typical corck pot dying method can be found here.)

This one was dyed in my trusty crock pot.

Dye:

Pink:

2 packages Pink Lemonade Kool-Aid mix

Mixed with a tiny glug of vinegar and enough hot water to equal 3/4 cup of liquid

Blue:

1/8 teaspoon Royal Blue Wilton's icing colors

Mixed with a tiny glug of vinegar and enough hot water to equal 3/4 cup of liquid~ but I only used about 1/3 cup

I piled the yarn into the crockpot with enough water to barely reach the the top of the yarn. I poured the pink dye all in one side of the crock pot. It took up about 1/3 of the pot, all on that one side. The blue dye was poured all in one spot, right against the edge of the crock pot and directly opposite the pink. So I ended up with a large un dyed section right in the middle and twisting around the blue. (Sorry. I forgot to take a picture.)

I heated it on low heat for around 4 hours, then turned the crock pot off and left it until it was completely cooled.

Be brave, be creative~

Connie
