Life has a way of crowding out our moments to create. Fighting for the time to rejuvenate, to engage in creativity is worth the effort.
This year, I feel like it is a constant fight for some moments to spend with sticks and string.
Despite the busyness of life, I have managed to complete my first crafting goal for 2013. I wanted to learn a new skill, and I did!
I have learned how to crochet cables!
Of course, I already knew how to work a front or back post double crochet, but I had never known about twisting them around other stitches to make cables.
And in true Connie style, I began learning the skill with a pattern but didn’t bother to finish said pattern before I began working my own design. Yep, that’s how I roll.
Danielle will be happy to know that her headband should be finished by this weekend! I can’t wait to snap a few photos of this lovely creation when it’s all complete!
I am so thrilled that crochet cables was my first new skill of the year! And I’m sure I’ll be dreaming up all sorts of projects to make with crochet cables!
